Cleaning up waterways and public spaces is something we pride ourselves on at A-C-T. So much so, in fact, that it even trickles down to our children. Tim Bosetti, a Senior Project Manager and Environmental Engineer on our team, got to watch this same passion shape his son, Joseph, into an Eagle Scout.
Growing up with a father in the military presented Joseph with the opportunity to be a part of Scouting across the world, but luckily for Bartow, his Eagle Scout project took place right in our backyard. Joseph chose to enhance the fishing experience at Mary Holland Park in Bartow by painting, restaining the deck, cleaning up debris, removing excess vegetation, and installing informational signage.
“It’s a great honor and I’m extremely proud as a dad to see my son grow up within Scouting and then take on a pretty big Eagle project, and get the support needed to get this project done,” said Tim Bosetti, Joseph’s father and a fellow Eagle Scout. Joseph wanted to do something that would be helpful to the community, something bigger than beautification. Working with his Troop 104 was the most enjoyable experience for him.
Joseph says, “Scouting is a good experience and an adventure you get to make, you get to learn new skills and explore new things you may enjoy!”
“Thank you to Rob [Kincart] for supporting Joseph and scouting in the greater Tampa Bay area. He has contributed and always supported,” says Tim.
Joseph’s Eagle Scout project was sponsored by the City of Bartow Parks and Recreation. He received support from A-C-T who provided pressure washing, tools, and safety equipment; PalletOne donated the lumber to build the sign board, repair the retaining wall, and make repairs to the pier; and the Bartow Chamber of Commerce provided funding for the paint, hardware, and deck stain. With the help of the Fish and Wildlife Commission, Joseph gathered information for the sign.
